The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bradley Jaramillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from DeAngelo Werner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clinton Cleveland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hinton's Elliott Dodson got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When DeAngelo Werner came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Nappanee FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that DeAngelo Werner couldn't finish the play. Casey Irving hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. If DeAngelo Werner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leo Bledsoe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Rafael Flynn sped through Nappanee FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Basil King. 34 minutes into the match, Hinton's goal looked a bit too open when Clinton Cleveland came free, but Bradley Jaramillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Hinton's zone, Clinton Cleveland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bradley Jaramillo came out of the goal and Clinton Cleveland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Hinton defense, DeAngelo Werner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bradley Jaramillo. The Hinton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bradley Jaramillo should have stopped the shot. Rafael Flynn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Basil King tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Clinton Cleveland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Clinton Cleveland made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Flynn in the 53rd minute of play forced Nappanee FC's goalkeeper Basil King to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. DeAngelo Werner had several of the Hinton's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 61 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Bradley Jaramillo as he didn't even see the shot coming. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Bradley Jaramillo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Basil King made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elliott Dodson in the 73rd minute of play. When Rafael Flynn came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Hinton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Flynn couldn't finish the play. Elliott Dodson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basil King having to interfere. Leo Bledsoe's late challenge caught a Hinton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leo Bledsoe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd match minute, Nappanee FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Bledsoe to maneuver through the defense. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
