The supporters of GAIS booed when A.C Blue Star was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renaldo Rutledge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wiley Hinson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guy Curtis in the 11th minute of play. After 16 played minutes GAIS got a freekick which was hit by Donovan Alonzo. In the 19th minute, Kevin McLaughlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute, Hector Rubio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.C Blue Star fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 37 minutes, Emerson Puckett mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.C Blue Star and the GAIS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to A.C Blue Star getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Emerson Puckett hit a great ball. Wiley Hinson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Salvatore Bower went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Salvatore Bower had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. GAIS's Salvatore Bower got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guy Curtis in the 45th minute of play forced A.C Blue Star's goalkeeper Wiley Hinson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hector Rubio to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind A.C Blue Star's goalkeeper Wiley Hinson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Donovan Alonzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hector Rubio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ricardo Lang took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wiley Hinson. A.C Blue Star's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GAIS the free kick. Gustavo Langford kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Salvatore Bower struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Wiley Hinson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GAIS. 96 minutes into the match, A.C Blue Star's goal looked a bit too open when Salvatore Bower came free, but Wiley Hinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
