Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tracy Wray got the match started through his kick off. Southern Shops's Arturo Barber managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Reed Melton in the 6 minute of the game. Dudley Reyna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathon Madison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute of the game Denny Lowry made a throw-in which Frankie Watkins played forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudley Reyna in the 22nd minute of play forced Southern Shops's goalkeeper Bruce Gates to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zane Olsen kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After 27 minutes, Dudley Reyna made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Southern Shops's Bruce Gates tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Bathurst FC's Dudley Reyna in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Southern Shops's goalie prevented a goal. When Jonathon Madison came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Bathurst FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathon Madison couldn't finish the play. If Tracy Wray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frankie Watkins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Bathurst FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 52 played minutes Southern Shops got a freekick which was hit by Tracy Wray. Jonathon Madison could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Bruce Gates made a huge save. If Dudley Reyna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 66th minute, Southern Shops's Rolland Post seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rolland Post the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Southern Shops protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rolland Post had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 65th minute, one of Southern Shops:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Southern Shops. The goalkeeper, Bruce Gates, was totally fooled by Bathurst FC's Hank Decker, who 68 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudley Reyna in the 71st minute of play forced Southern Shops's goalkeeper Bruce Gates to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Southern Shops's goalkeeper Bruce Gates, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bruce Gates showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dudley Reyna in the 81st minute of the match. Bruce Gates made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonathon Madison in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudley Reyna in the 84th minute of play forced Southern Shops's goalkeeper Bruce Gates to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Dudley Reyna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruce Gates saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathon Madison took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruce Gates. Bruce Gates dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Reed Melton got a throw-in 98 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Frankie Watkins.
