After some careless play in the Prineville FC defense, Carson Reid kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Boyd Huffman. The Prineville FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Boyd Huffman should have stopped the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Houston Zimmerman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Boyd Huffman. Prineville FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Houston Zimmerman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Boyd Huffman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carson Reid's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. After 55 minutes, Thad Stover mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Prineville FC and the Spruce Pine players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Prineville FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thad Stover to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Spruce Pine's Adam Becker got a free kick in the 63rd minute. When Houston Zimmerman came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Spruce Pine fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Houston Zimmerman couldn't finish the play. Thad Stover kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The attack was good, but when Houston Zimmerman in the 70th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Carson Reid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Spruce Pine's Carson Reid slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Boyd Huffman. That made the score 1-5 after 94 minutes of play. When the match was over Spruce Pine could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Prineville FC throughout the match.
