Palmer Mitchell charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Palmer Mitchell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute, Charlie Welsh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sumter FC's Florian Sanchez in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chenoweth's goalie prevented a goal. Alec Vance came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Sumter FC's Giovanni Jewell. But to his dismay, Giovanni Jewell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Daron Reese fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alec Vance having to interfere. Florian Sanchez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Giovanni Jewell came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Sumter FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovanni Jewell couldn't finish the play. Palmer Mitchell was shown his second yellow card after 27 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 27th match minute, Chenoweth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Palmer Mitchell to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute, Thomas Herrington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Joe Salinas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Florian Sanchez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alec Vance was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Florian Sanchez put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Alec Vance. After the first half Sumter FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Daron Reese recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florian Sanchez in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alec Vance, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Florian Sanchez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sumter FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Florian Sanchez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alec Vance breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Odell Abbott charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Florian Sanchez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Alec Vance when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alec Vance took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florian Sanchez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovanni Jewell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alec Vance having to interfere. When Giovanni Jewell came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Sumter FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovanni Jewell couldn't finish the play. Chenoweth's Alec Vance proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Chenoweth from getting a goal against them. Giovanni Jewell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Florian Sanchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chenoweth's Alec Vance proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Chenoweth from getting a goal against them. Alec Vance made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daron Reese in the 93rd minute of play. When Odell Abbott came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Chenoweth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Odell Abbott couldn't finish the play. Sumter FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
