Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) Xavier Pugh started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a rather tough play, Hollister's Greg McKenna got a free kick in the 2nd minute. When Virgil Horner came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Golden Valley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgil Horner couldn't finish the play. Cristopher Suarez hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Golden Valley's goalkeeper Matthew Hopson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Dallas Fairchild managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hollister's supporters rose to their feet, but Dallas Fairchild was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matthew Hopson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Virgil Horner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Greg McKenna took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Matthew Hopson. Golden Valley's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 19th minute Xavier Pugh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthew Hopson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Hollister booed when Golden Valley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Henderson didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Dallas Fairchild had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Xavier Pugh came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Hollister fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xavier Pugh couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Golden Valley's Val Cody got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 40 minutes of play, Hollister's Xavier Pugh made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Matthew Hopson was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The wind increased when Denny Harden made the kick off in the second half. Sid Melendez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denny Harden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Virgil Horner notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Hollister's Sid Melendez. Sid Melendez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ryan McConnell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tad Pickens hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After taking down the ball on Golden Valley's corner Val Cody fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sid Melendez quite easily take care of the ball. Sid Melendez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgil Horner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgil Horner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Sid Melendez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sid Melendez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgil Horner in the 85th minute of the match. Denny Harden struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Sid Melendez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Golden Valley. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Virgil Horner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golden Valley's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgil Horner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sid Melendez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Hollister's zone, Denny Harden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sid Melendez came out of the goal and Denny Harden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Hollister walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
