Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 0) Luciano Cisneros started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Robby Donovan might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabian Howe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robby Donovan ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabian Howe came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Castroville FC's Robby Donovan. But to his dismay, Robby Donovan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Dario Triplett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Castroville FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Cisneros came free, but Stan Ng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, South Valley's goal looked a bit too open when Robby Donovan came free, but Fabian Howe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabian Howe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robby Donovan in the 21st minute of play. Fabian Howe came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Castroville FC's Dario Triplett. But to his dismay, Dario Triplett quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When German Gabriel came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the South Valley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that German Gabriel couldn't finish the play. German Gabriel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robby Donovan to strike the kick off in the second half. Stan Ng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Cisneros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. German Gabriel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dario Triplett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Castroville FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Merrill Garza hit a great ball. Mason Yoder, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 77th minute, Errol Thorpe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robby Donovan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dario Triplett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stan Ng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Gabriel in the 90th minute of the match. After 93 played minutes Castroville FC got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Riggs. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Castroville FC's goalie and right to Benny Johns. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Castroville FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The Castroville FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
