Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Chance MacMillan started the match with the kick off. Chance MacMillan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tommie McClellan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sid Egan in the 11th minute of the match. The supporters of Alden booed when Rubidoux AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donald Hayes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brendan Prather struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Brant Larsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alden. In the 16th minute, Donald Hayes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luciano McCray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Brant Larsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Rubidoux AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jerrod Wolff fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Brendan Prather fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brant Larsen having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Brendan Prather dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Brant Larsen, 1-0. Jerrod Wolff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Heriberto Gustafson hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. When Bill Hale fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rubidoux AFC's protests and gave Bill Hale a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes Rubidoux AFC got a freekick which was hit by Stanton Woodall. 38 minutes into the game, Heriberto Gustafson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alden's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rubidoux AFC the free kick. After 38 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Alden! In the 43rd match minute, Alden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teddy McCarthy to maneuver through the defense. After 44 played minutes, Rubidoux AFC's Stanton Woodall shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tommie McClellan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rubidoux AFC reached it. 45 minutes into the game, Sid Egan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Tommie McClellan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santo Rainey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chance MacMillan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brant Larsen having to interfere. Alden's Tommie McClellan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Alden from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Isaiah Gillis during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 59 minutes into the match, Alden's goalkeeper Tommie McClellan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sid Egan. The crowd rose to their feet as Santo Rainey kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tommie McClellan. That made the score 1-3 in the 66 minute of play. In the 71st minute, Rubidoux AFC's Cristopher Sparks ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tommie McClellan. Tommie McClellan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Brendan Prather received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Brant Larsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brendan Prather sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristopher Sparks got free with Tommie McClellan in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 96th minute, Chance MacMillan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
