Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Mario Nesbitt made the kick off which started today's match. When Mario Nesbitt, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 5 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Marco Edmonds was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Tyrese Boone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Rick Mackey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Erie booed when Eddystone FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerard Kenny didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Edmonds showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Nesbitt, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. If Fernando Bautista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Erie getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Abdul Romero hit a great ball. Fernando Bautista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Marco Edmonds tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erie's Claudio Pearce got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When %teams%'s Mario Nesbitt was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 1-0 just inside the left pole, 29 minutes into the game. Marco Edmonds was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. After 36 minutes, Kirby Crum mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eddystone FC and the Erie players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Dwayne Townsend sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Eddystone FC's Rick Mackey didn't even have to move. Rick Mackey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Pearce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Edmonds made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Mario Nesbitt sent off a good shot on target. Eddystone FC's Rick Mackey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Pearce in the 42nd minute of play. If Claudio Pearce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tyrese Boone stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Erie getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Abdul Romero hit a great ball. Claudio Pearce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Mackey having to interfere. After having played for 63 minutes, Mario Nesbitt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eddystone FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mario Nesbitt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Max Stiles came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Erie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Max Stiles couldn't finish the play. Marco Edmonds stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mario Nesbitt's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Eddystone FC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Pearce came free, but Rick Mackey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Tyrese Boone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Bautista took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Edmonds. Marco Edmonds dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Claudio Pearce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eddystone FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
