Darrell Aragon's late challenge caught a Rebels's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darrell Aragon helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rebels booed when Fruitland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the game, Rebels's Reginald Spangler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Salvatore Daniel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Rudolph McMahon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Corneliu Potra made a huge save. Fruitland's Salvatore Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginald Spangler in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reginald Spangler was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reginald Spangler in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salvatore Daniel saved Fruitland from getting behind. After some careless play in the Fruitland defense, Reginald Spangler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Salvatore Daniel. The Fruitland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Salvatore Daniel should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Fruitland getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Donald Leach hit a great ball. With a little luck, Fruitland's Salvatore Daniel got control of the ball when John Hubbard tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reginald Spangler scored 0-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Salvatore Daniel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Panos Kokkinis kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Rebels's goal looked a bit too open when Robby Kemp came free, but Corneliu Potra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jack Tidwell came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Rebels fans jumped to their feet.
