Roy Vickers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Hubbard, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Basil Beck was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 77 minutes into the match, Tysons Corner's Terrance McHugh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roy Vickers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 77 played minutes Dos Palos got a freekick which was hit by Bobby Swanson. Tobias Hubbard was extremely unlucky when he, in the 78th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Terrance McHugh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Vickers having to interfere.
