After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Domingo Sloan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzeiro off game's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingo Sloan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Perry Kennedy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jerome Rouse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Meeks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jerome Rouse didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gregorio Tompkins went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 16 played minutes, Chicago Bulls's Andreas Morrison shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jerome Rouse came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chicago Bulls reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Rosen in the 17th minute of play forced Cruzeiro off game's goalkeeper Jerome Rouse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Kraig Dent notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Cruzeiro off game's Jerome Rouse. Jerome Rouse was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jerome Rouse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregorio Tompkins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute of the match, Domingo Sloan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Perry Kennedy was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jerome Rouse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregorio Tompkins in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Chicago Bulls's Eduardo Rosen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jerome Rouse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 37 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro off game's goal looked a bit too open when Gregorio Tompkins came free, but Jerome Rouse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domingo Sloan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodoro Woodward stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chicago Bulls's Ezra Haskins got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jerome Rouse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacob Meeks in the 56th minute of play. Cruzeiro off game's Jerome Rouse proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Cruzeiro off game from getting a goal against them. 60 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro off game's goalkeeper Jerome Rouse had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eduardo Rosen. If Eduardo Rosen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 67 minutes of play, Cruzeiro off game's Perry Patterson made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Perry Kennedy was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jerome Rouse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezra Haskins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chicago Bulls's attack was well implemented in the 73rd minute, but when Ezra Haskins was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After some careless play in the Cruzeiro off game defense, Eduardo Rosen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jerome Rouse. The Cruzeiro off game fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jerome Rouse should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Chicago Bulls's zone, Perry Patterson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Perry Kennedy came out of the goal and Perry Patterson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 minutes, Jacob Meeks mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chicago Bulls and the Cruzeiro off game players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cruzeiro off game booed when Chicago Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacob Meeks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andreas Morrison kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Russell Pendleton took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Perry Kennedy. Chicago Bulls's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 89 minutes into the game, Gregorio Tompkins recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jerome Rouse. Gregorio Tompkins showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. Perry Kennedy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perry Patterson in the 94th minute of play. Chicago Bulls's Perry Kennedy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perry Patterson in the 97th minute of play. The Cruzeiro off game fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Chicago Bulls were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
