The supporters of Galesburg booed when McDonald FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josef Tucker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rich Trotter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jessie Phipps in the 8th minute. 11 minutes into the match, McDonald FC's goal looked a bit too open when Deon Thompson came free, but Rich Trotter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Galesburg's goal looked a bit too open when Edmund Paris came free, but Esteban Pendleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Terrance Roark fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Pendleton having to interfere. Rich Trotter was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Deon Thompson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play. Jessie Phipps sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Edmund Paris managed to get in a good position for a shot. McDonald FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmund Paris was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esteban Pendleton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 37 minutes into the match, Galesburg's goal looked a bit too open when Terrance Roark came free, but Esteban Pendleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Edmund Paris managed to get in a good position for a shot. McDonald FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmund Paris was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esteban Pendleton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Edmund Paris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Edmund Paris came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the McDonald FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmund Paris couldn't finish the play. Edmund Paris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Raul Fontenot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Terrance Roark was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Edmund Paris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 59 played minutes Galesburg got a freekick which was hit by Steve Lawler. Rich Trotter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deon Thompson, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 74th minute Deon Thompson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rich Trotter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rich Trotter came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Galesburg's Jessie Phipps. But to his dismay, Jessie Phipps quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Rich Trotter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jessie Phipps, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After having played for 90 minutes, Deon Thompson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galesburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Deon Thompson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Esteban Pendleton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terrance Roark in the 95th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raul Fontenot during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Raul Fontenot hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the McDonald FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Galesburg.
