With his leg Arturo Gillespie managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when REAL MADRID CF's Young Herring fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Arturo Gillespie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Young Herring went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 15th minute Weldon Leary shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sid Osborne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. REAL MADRID CF's Sid Osborne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Weldon Leary in the 16th minute of play. A collision led to New Martinsville getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Chase Tolbert hit a great ball. Isidro Stoddard hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Mixon in the 21st minute of play forced REAL MADRID CF's goalkeeper Sid Osborne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arturo Gillespie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidro Stoddard, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Isidro Stoddard managed to get in a good position for a shot. REAL MADRID CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidro Stoddard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Gillespie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Young Herring's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Arturo Gillespie skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidro Stoddard in the 41st minute of play forced New Martinsville's goalkeeper Arturo Gillespie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Young Herring got free with Arturo Gillespie in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute Isidro Stoddard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Gillespie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute Milton Enriquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sid Osborne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Young Herring who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Arturo Gillespie when he managed to save the team from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Young Herring made the kick off in the second half. Young Herring might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arturo Gillespie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Young Herring ran back to his position shaking his head. Arturo Gillespie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidro Stoddard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute, Isidro Stoddard made a precise shot to the right of Arturo Gillespie. New Martinsville's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Stanton Engle hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute Weldon Leary shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sid Osborne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heriberto McDermott in the 69th minute of play forced New Martinsville's goalkeeper Arturo Gillespie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Stefan Mixon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, REAL MADRID CF's Young Herring got a free kick in the 70th minute. Weldon Leary sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But to his dismay, Isidro Stoddard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind REAL MADRID CF's goalkeeper Sid Osborne, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Young Herring managed to get in a good position for a shot. REAL MADRID CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Young Herring was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Young Herring sped through New Martinsville's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arturo Gillespie. In the 98th minute, Milton Enriquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sid Osborne was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. REAL MADRID CF fully deserved thier win.
