Donnie Hughes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Caleb Bragg's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 17th match minute, Indian Hills was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francesco Hines to maneuver through the defense. Stewart Yoder's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donnie Hughes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 23 minutes, Caleb Bragg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Indian Hills's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caleb Bragg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Junior Shannon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Loren Willingham. Indian Hills's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Junior Shannon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Palmer Pena in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Loren Willingham prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Malabar AFC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Palmer Pena hit a great ball. Donnie Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stewart Yoder in the 43rd minute of play.

When Palmer Pena came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Malabar AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Palmer Pena couldn't finish the play. If Palmer Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Junior Shannon struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Loren Willingham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malabar AFC. 67 minutes into the match, Indian Hills's Caleb Bragg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Donnie Hughes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Caleb Bragg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donnie Hughes was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Stewart Yoder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Donnie Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
