Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gerald Green kicked off to start the match. Cason Mayo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rod Crawford in the 6th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Gerald Green shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Ramirez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cason Mayo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dalton Negron's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. The supporters of Knoxville United booed when Painted Post AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roosevelt McCall didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Danny Rowell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute, Sid Joiner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Painted Post AFC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Roosevelt McCall hit a great ball. After 41 played minutes Knoxville United got a freekick which was hit by Rod Crawford. A collision led to Knoxville United getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Jerold Mathis hit a great ball. If Rico Roper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Cason Mayo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Knoxville United. When the final whistle sounded Knoxville United left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Painted Post AFC.
