Darron Maddox stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emanuel Denne's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. A collision led to Jäger FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Reggie Shoemaker hit a great ball. After 22 played minutes, Cartersville's Otis Kirkland shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Darron Maddox came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cartersville reached it. Cartersville's Emanuel Denne got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Archie Boyle struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Darron Maddox didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cartersville.
