The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Garret Petersen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Jonas Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andrew Silver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ed Mitchell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Andrew Silver fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Garret Petersen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ladysmith AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Garret Petersen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clark Parr breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wayne Barker hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Jonas Rodrigues's late challenge caught a Ladysmith AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonas Rodrigues helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ladysmith AFC booed when Fort Oglethorpe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frankie Donaldson, 40 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Clark Parr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garret Petersen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Jonas Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes into the game, Garret Petersen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Clark Parr was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andrew Silver to strike the kick off in the second half. Garret Petersen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Clark Parr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Garret Petersen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clark Parr having to interfere. A collision led to Ladysmith AFC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Denver Crosby hit a great ball. Vincent Chan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Ladysmith AFC's Rex Fritz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Clark Parr. That made the score 0-2 after 66 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rex Fritz got free with Clark Parr in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Garret Petersen took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Clark Parr. Clark Parr dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Clark Parr made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rex Fritz in the 75th minute. Clark Parr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garret Petersen in the 76th minute of play. Dustin Smith scored 0-4 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Clark Parr, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 89 minutes into the match, Fort Oglethorpe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Garret Petersen came free, but Clark Parr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Fort Oglethorpe FC's zone, Garret Petersen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clark Parr came out of the goal and Garret Petersen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ladysmith AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
