Rafael Suggs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Ricky Potter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Markus Shearer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Markus Shearer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Potter having to interfere. After some careless play in the Pharr FC defense, Rafael Suggs kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricky Potter. The Pharr FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricky Potter should have stopped the shot. Ivan Saucedo kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute of the match Bernardo Cartwright sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricky Potter skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Markus Shearer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Western Springs AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Markus Shearer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31stth minute of the game Markus Shearer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pharr FC's Ricky Potter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Pharr FC's Brock Eddy got a free kick in the 38th minute. Bernardo Cartwright was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 39th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Markus Shearer notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Pharr FC's Ricky Potter. Ricky Potter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rafael Suggs made a kick off. If Markus Shearer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Markus Shearer took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricky Potter. Ricky Potter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Pharr FC's zone, Markus Shearer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricky Potter came out of the goal and Markus Shearer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Suggs in the 76th minute of play forced Pharr FC's goalkeeper Ricky Potter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricky Potter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Suggs, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Markus Shearers short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Ricky Potter to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rafael Suggs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Potter having to interfere. Markus Shearer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquin Bernstein in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edmund Orozco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Pharr FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Western Springs AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
