After a defensive mix-up in Eden Isle's zone, Rafael Suggs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barry Goss came out of the goal and Rafael Suggs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmund Orozco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Merlin Carbajal in the 13th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Markus Shearer got free with Barry Goss in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Barry Goss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Burch, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arthur Burkett in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmund Orozco saved Western Springs AFC from getting behind. Markus Shearer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Barry Goss made a huge save. A collision led to Eden Isle getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Carlo Magee hit a great ball. Markus Shearer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arthur Burkett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Markus Shearer got free with Barry Goss in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Barry Goss was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rafael Suggs showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 41 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute Rafael Suggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barry Goss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 played minutes Western Springs AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dana Crowell. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Carlo Magee managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eden Isle's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlo Magee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmund Orozco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Western Springs AFC's Edmund Orozco got control of the ball when Merlin Carbajal tried to sneak it across the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Western Springs AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Toby Ludwig came free, but Edmund Orozco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 92 minutes, Toby Ludwig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eden Isle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toby Ludwig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Many of Eden Isle's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Eden Isle may have spent more time on the ball, but Western Springs AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
