To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliseo Barlow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Cason Ferrell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brian Bassett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Alpha FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Alfonzo Borden hit a great ball. Cason Ferrell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vernon Ibarra's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vernon Ibarra in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cason Ferrell prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wheatley Heights's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Landon Bonds in the 24th minute. Eliseo Barlow might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cason Ferrell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Barlow ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 33rd minute, Landon Bonds made a precise shot to the right of Cason Ferrell. Alpha FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Cason Ferrell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliseo Barlow's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Eliseo Barlow fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cason Ferrell having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Vernon Ibarra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wheatley Heights's supporters rose to their feet, but Vernon Ibarra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cason Ferrell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute Eliseo Barlow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cason Ferrell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 45 minutes, Brian Bassett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wheatley Heights's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brian Bassett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Brian Bassett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusebio Easley was the one to do the kick off. When Vernon Ibarra came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Wheatley Heights fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vernon Ibarra couldn't finish the play. Cason Ferrell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Landon Bonds in the 66th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Brian Bassett had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cason Ferrell. Alpha FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brian Bassett was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 83rd minute of the match, Landon Bonds tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cason Ferrell saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Alpha FC's zone, Brian Bassett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cason Ferrell came out of the goal and Brian Bassett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Alpha FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! Wheatley Heights's Eliseo Barlow got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Brian Bassett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wheatley Heights's supporters rose to their feet, but Brian Bassett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
