Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Oscar Nielsen made the kick off which started today's match. Elias McGill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilfred Weeks in the 4th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quinn Hunt got free with Maurice Acosta in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Ranger FC's Maurice Acosta got control of the ball when Quinn Hunt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cole Annan kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Cole Annan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maurice Acosta made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Quinn Hunt sent off a good shot on target. Oscar Nielsen struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Elias McGill didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ranger FC. When Oscar Nielsen came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Ranger FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Nielsen couldn't finish the play. Eusebio Abel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maurice Acosta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Eddie Gilliam charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eddie Gilliam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ranger FC booed when Estero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eddie Gilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cory Christensen kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The Estero fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Estero's Quinn Hunt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Estero's zone, Wilfred Weeks stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias McGill came out of the goal and Wilfred Weeks tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 42 minutes, Wilfred Weeks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ranger FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfred Weeks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cole Annan to make the kick off. Wilfred Weeks blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elias McGill having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Levi Jacobsen during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ted Hunt's late challenge caught a Estero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ted Hunt helped the player get up and apologised. After 72 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ranger FC! Jeremiah Shields placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Quinn Hunt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 98 minutes, Elias McGill successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ranger FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
