Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Malden's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Cason Baker scored to the left of an out of position Aaron Marsh, making the score, 1-0. In the 11th match minute, Malden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roy Dotson to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Cason Baker took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Aaron Marsh to make any attempt to save it. 20 minutes into the game, Dale Kellogg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malden's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saginaw the free kick. A collision led to Malden getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Dale Kellogg hit a great ball. If Tuan Dahlstrom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kelly Berry recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kelly Berry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Marsh having to interfere. Aaron Marsh was a little too slow when Cason Baker got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cason Baker was the one to do the kick off. Cason Baker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute, Saginaw's Tad Merrill seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Tad Merrill the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Saginaw protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Tad Merrill had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Roy Dotson walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After having played for 59 minutes, Javier Swain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Javier Swain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 63 played minutes Javier Swain rounded Saginaw's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-1. Javier Swain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saginaw's Cory Pope played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Javier Swain in the 77th minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Malden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Coker to maneuver through the defense. Aaron Marsh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Harrington in the 86th minute of play.
