In the 4th minute, Ronald Swanson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daren Randall was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 8 minutes into the game, Freddie Snyder was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carroll AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave West Burlington the free kick. A collision led to Carroll AFC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Freddie Snyder hit a great ball. Anson Akins was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 9th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Connor Armenta who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Damon Winston when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kent Austin kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Tyler Buckley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ralph Crozier kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Anson Akins sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Carroll AFC's Damon Winston didn't even have to move. West Burlington's Tyler Buckley got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 25 minutes, Jordan Kennedy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carroll AFC and the West Burlington players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th minute, Jordan Kennedy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Connor Armenta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Damon Winston made a huge save. If Ralph Crozier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kent Austin kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Ralph Crozier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daren Randall read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. In the 44th match minute, Carroll AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddie Snyder to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by Carroll AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Anson Akins was slow to take the kick. During this time West Burlington's players had a chance to rest. After the first half Carroll AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Freddie Snyder to make the kick off. Jordan Kennedy got his second yellow card in the match during the 55th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of West Burlington booed when Carroll AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordan Kennedy didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 68 minutes, Ronald Swanson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carroll AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronald Swanson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 71 minutes into the game, Ralph Crozier recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Daren Randall. Ralph Crozier showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. 75 minutes into the match, Carroll AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Tyler Buckley came free, but Damon Winston reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Connor Armenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Damon Winston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tyler Buckley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute, Ralph Crozier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carroll AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
