The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sal Jean came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Canal Fulton AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sal Jean couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Sal Jean managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canal Fulton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sal Jean was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stan Nichols breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Morgan Martin got free in front of the goal in the 27th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Stan Nichols was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Stan Nichols took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sal Jean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Morgan Martin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canal Fulton AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Sal Jean struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Stan Nichols didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canal Fulton AFC. Matthew Pittman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Vogel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46thth minute of the game Sal Jean who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chattanooga Valley's Stan Nichols was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Canal Fulton AFC booed when Chattanooga Valley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hal Russo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 50 minutes into the match, Chattanooga Valley's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Brannon came free, but Stan Nichols reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Morgan Martin to make the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chattanooga Valley fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! Matthew Pittman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrick Payne, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Vogel in the 62nd minute of play forced Canal Fulton AFC's goalkeeper Matthew Pittman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had been going on for 75 minutes, Canal Fulton AFC's Roland Brannon got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Stan Nichols. Stan Nichols showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Morgan Martin in the 80th minute of the match. Chattanooga Valley's Stan Nichols proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Chattanooga Valley from getting a goal against them. After having played for 87 minutes, Rodrick Payne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chattanooga Valley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrick Payne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Chattanooga Valley's Stan Nichols got control of the ball when Sal Jean tried to sneak it across the goal line. A hard shot 95 in the game by Sal Jean from a close distance when the talented Stan Nichols managed to make a qualified save. Chattanooga Valley's players were relieved. 98 minutes into the game, Chattanooga Valley's Rodrick Payne nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matthew Pittman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 104th minute, Chattanooga Valley's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sal Jean fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Canal Fulton AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
