Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Goliad FC's Wendell Crum started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Ward Rowan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 14 played minutes Lighting Shogun got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Davila. 15 minutes into the match, Goliad FC's Shayne Clement broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 17th minute, one of Goliad FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Goliad FC. Chase Brandt placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 23rd minute of the match, Wendell Crum tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ward Rowan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Wendell Crum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ward Rowan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Wendell Crum managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goliad FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wendell Crum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ward Rowan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th minute, Wyatt Douglas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the match, Goliad FC's goal looked a bit too open when Louie Madison came free, but Wallace Murillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lighting Shogun's Ward Rowan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wendell Crum in the 35th minute of play. With a little luck, Lighting Shogun's Ward Rowan got control of the ball when Andre Hardin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 41 played minutes Lighting Shogun got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Davila. The Goliad FC fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Goliad FC's Wendell Crum looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With his leg Ward Rowan managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Goliad FC's Andre Hardin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Goliad FC's Wallace Murillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Louie Madison in the 51st minute of play. Ward Rowan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andre Hardin, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 54th minute, Matthew Davila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Goliad FC's Shayne Clement tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ward Rowan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wendell Crum in the 57th minute of the match. When Lance Pagan came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Lighting Shogun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lance Pagan couldn't finish the play. Lighting Shogun's Ward Rowan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wyatt Douglas in the 68th minute of play. Wendell Crum recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geoffrey Mullins kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. When Wendell Crum came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Goliad FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wendell Crum couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lance Pagan got free with Wallace Murillo in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ward Rowan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wyatt Douglas, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Lighting Shogun's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
