Benton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ted Tinsley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 7 minutes into the game, Sergio Bender cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Severo Gorbea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wilfredo Dickerson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglass Mobley, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 27th minute Ted Tinsley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Gorbea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Luther Begay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cushing AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Benton the free kick. A collision led to Cushing AFC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Luther Begay hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the match, Benton's goal looked a bit too open when Ted Tinsley came free, but Severo Gorbea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ted Tinsley scored 1-3 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Severo Gorbea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Ted Tinsley came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Cushing AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ted Tinsley couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Benton's zone, Abraham Schmidt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severo Gorbea came out of the goal and Abraham Schmidt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sydney Kidd was the one to do the kick off. Geoff Burroughs hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Benton's Tracey Pryor tried to score from far away in the 52nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Omar Sands scored 1-4 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Severo Gorbea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ted Tinsley in the 74th minute of play forced Benton's goalkeeper Severo Gorbea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ted Tinsley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Timmy Castillo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Cushing AFC's Omar Sands got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cushing AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! Tracey Pryor shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Guy Noble hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Omar Sands sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Omar Sands made a precise shot to the right of Severo Gorbea. Benton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Cushing AFC played a much better game than Benton and deserved their victory. The Benton players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
