Spectators: 7410 (Terracing: 5664, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 10) Kahului's Denny McClellan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stewart Zavala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Stanton Cottrell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kahului's zone, Stewart Zavala stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stanton Cottrell came out of the goal and Stewart Zavala tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stewart Zavala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanton Cottrell having to interfere. Teodoro Kenney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Stanton Cottrell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stanton Cottrell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stewart Zavala, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Teodoro Kenney struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Stanton Cottrell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool FC. Teodoro Kenney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Stewart Zavala notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Kahului's Stanton Cottrell. Stanton Cottrell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 42nd minute, Kahului's Emmitt Ledford ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bret Jeffries. Bret Jeffries yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Teodoro Kenney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stewart Zavala made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Liverpool FC's zone, Denny McClellan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bret Jeffries came out of the goal and Denny McClellan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th minute, Teodoro Kenney got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Denny McClellan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bret Jeffries read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. After 60 minutes Liverpool FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Richard Jensen who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Kahului's Richard Jensen to fire away a dangerous shot which Bret Jeffries despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 63rd minute Emmitt Ledford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bret Jeffries saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodoro Kenney blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stanton Cottrell having to make a save. In the 91st minute Teodoro Kenney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanton Cottrell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kahului's Stanton Cottrell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Kenney in the 94th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Liverpool FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
