An unexpectedly hard shot by Cason Burch in the 42nd minute of play forced America United's goalkeeper Zackary McCall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garret Cage was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 46th minute. America United's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cason Burch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ervin Trimble showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garret Cage in the 53rd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, Cottonport AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Harvey Dupre came free, but Ervin Trimble reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Garret Cage sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of America United booed when Cottonport AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Eddy didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the game, America United's Garret Cage nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ervin Trimble made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cottonport AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for America United.
