St. Andrews
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rickey Bartley took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute Kory Pendleton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donovan Calhoun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Newell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucien Uribe in the 5th minute. After a rather tough play, Skyline AFC's Nathaniel Dean got a free kick in the 6th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Lucien Uribe kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilson Newell. That made the score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. When Kory Pendleton fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skyline AFC's protests and gave Kory Pendleton a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 played minutes Skyline AFC got a freekick which was hit by Kory Pendleton. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bo Rosa in the 19th minute of play forced Skyline AFC's goalkeeper Wilson Newell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Newell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jesse Bruner in the 21st minute. Donovan Calhoun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kory Pendleton in the 25th minute of play. The audience held their breath when Darell Boston in the 30th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Donovan Calhoun's left hand side. 31 minutes into the match, St. Andrews's goal looked a bit too open when Rickey Bartley came free, but Donovan Calhoun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute, Bo Rosa made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Newell. Skyline AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 38th minute, Jarod Donovan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilson Newell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jesse Bruner in the 41st minute. Jamal Moreno kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute Kory Pendleton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donovan Calhoun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mel Redd to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Lucien Uribe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. St. Andrews's Ty Valle couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 55th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Skyline AFC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesse Bruner in the 56th minute of play forced Skyline AFC's goalkeeper Wilson Newell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute Mel Redd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Newell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the game, St. Andrews's Lucien Uribe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Newell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Kory Pendleton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skyline AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kory Pendleton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donovan Calhoun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilson Newell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesse Bruner in the 69th minute of play. After 71 played minutes, St. Andrews's Ty Valle shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wilson Newell came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in St. Andrews reached it. After 77 minutes of play, Skyline AFC's Rickey Bartley made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donovan Calhoun was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wilson Newell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucien Uribe in the 82nd minute of play. Franklin Cobb kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 90 minutes into the game, Bo Rosa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Wilson Newell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 97th minute, Skyline AFC's Franklin Cobb seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Franklin Cobb the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Skyline AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Franklin Cobb had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Skyline AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of St. Andrews:s goal. The referee gave St. Andrews a penalty, 99 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ty Valle, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Skyline AFC's Wilson Newell. 6-1. St. Andrews walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
