In the 13th match minute, River Oaks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aidan Pearce to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Quinn Woodruff ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnold Cates was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Arnold Cates made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quinn Woodruff in the 20th minute of play. Arturo Negron might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnold Cates. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arturo Negron ran back to his position shaking his head. If Quinn Woodruff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Quinn Woodruff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Arnold Cates tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arturo Negron in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnold Cates prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 34 minutes into the match, River Oaks's goal looked a bit too open when Quinn Woodruff came free, but Arnold Cates reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Arturo Negron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in River Oaks's zone, Quinn Woodruff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnold Cates came out of the goal and Quinn Woodruff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Quinn Woodruff came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Woodcrest AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quinn Woodruff couldn't finish the play. Arnold Cates made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Negron in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Otis Chappelle was the one to do the kick off. When Otis Chappelle came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the River Oaks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Otis Chappelle couldn't finish the play. Cole Rhodes kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. If Tory Kessler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Arturo Negron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Woodcrest AFC's Arturo Negron got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arturo Negron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnold Cates having to interfere. Woodcrest AFC's Quinn Woodruff got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Woodcrest AFC's Quinn Woodruff in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye River Oaks's goalie prevented a goal. 74 minutes into the game, Cole Rhodes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Woodcrest AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Oaks the free kick. After 74 played minutes Woodcrest AFC got a freekick which was hit by Cole Rhodes. Quinn Woodruff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Arnold Cates tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Arturo Negron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Woodcrest AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Negron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Quinn Woodruff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Quinn Woodruff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Arnold Cates tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Arnold Cates managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Woodcrest AFC's Arturo Negron fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Quinn Woodruff struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Arnold Cates didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Woodcrest AFC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Quinn Woodruff in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnold Cates prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
