Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) When Tory Kessler fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Oaks's protests and gave Tory Kessler a yellow card for diving instead. Arnold Cates made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dallas Altman in the 7th minute of play. Arnold Cates came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by NY Metropolitans's Rickey Gonzalez. But to his dismay, Rickey Gonzalez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. NY Metropolitans's Dallas Altman got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rickey Gonzalez in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnold Cates saved River Oaks from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in NY Metropolitans's zone, Otis Chappelle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bailey Kirkland came out of the goal and Otis Chappelle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dallas Altman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julian Ragsdale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 0-2 became the score in the 29th minute when Dallas Altman elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Dallas Altman managed to get in a good position for a shot. NY Metropolitans's supporters rose to their feet, but Dallas Altman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnold Cates breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dallas Altman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnold Cates read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 39thth minute of the game Dallas Altman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Oaks's Arnold Cates was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dallas Altman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Arnold Cates tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Otis Chappelle made a kick off. Dallas Altman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnold Cates having to interfere. River Oaks's Arnold Cates played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dallas Altman in the 56th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Otis Chappelle during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 58th match minute, River Oaks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otis Chappelle to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Dallas Altman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnold Cates. That made the score 0-3 in the 59 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dallas Altman in the 66th minute of play forced River Oaks's goalkeeper Arnold Cates to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. NY Metropolitans made a substitution. Larry Hood replaced Matthew Jacques. In the 72nd minute NY Metropolitans were awarded a corner. Greg Carlson went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on NY Metropolitans's corner Greg Carlson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnold Cates quite easily take care of the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Lucas McNeil recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnold Cates. Lucas McNeil showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Lucas McNeils short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Arnold Cates to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Julian Ragsdale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Arnold Cates made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Lucas McNeil put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Arnold Cates. After 94 played minutes Lucas McNeil could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 0-7 into the left cross. NY Metropolitans's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
