The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Quinn Woodruff received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tyrone Beam came out and tried to block the shot, but Quinn Woodruff slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Goshen's Tyrone Beam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quinn Woodruff in the 9th minute of play. 1-1 became the score in the 14th minute when Quentin King elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Damon Babcock's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rhett Leslie was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. In the 19th minute, Damon Babcock left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goshen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The referee showed Ferdinand Newcomb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Woodcrest AFC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Ferdinand Newcomb hit a great ball. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Woodcrest AFC! Tyrone Beam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quinn Woodruff in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Quentin King made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Woodcrest AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dwayne Matson to maneuver through the defense. If Arturo Negron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Orr's late challenge caught a Woodcrest AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Orr helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th minute, Daniel Orr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arturo Negron struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Tyrone Beam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Woodcrest AFC. Rhett Leslie made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Damon Babcock sent off a good shot on target. Quentin King sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arturo Negron's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tyrone Beam read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. If Arturo Negron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Goshen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damon Babcock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Arturo Negron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Woodcrest AFC's Quinn Woodruff in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goshen's goalie prevented a goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Goshen eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
