Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rob Stapleton started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. If Dirk Skaggs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 6th minute, Cameron Perkins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute Rob Stapleton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Sexton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th match minute, Sheridan Beach AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Randell Kyle to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Margate City booed when Sheridan Beach AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dillon Foster didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lazaro Grove, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Moses Gaston fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Margate City's protests and gave Moses Gaston a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Margate City's Moses Gaston got a free kick in the 11th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Dirk Skaggs recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marco Hathaway. Dirk Skaggs showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Norberto Sexton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rod Wilhelm in the 18th minute of play. In the 25th minute Rob Stapleton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Sexton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dirk Skaggs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Marco Hathaway tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dillon Foster's late challenge caught a Margate City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dillon Foster helped the player get up and apologised. Dillon Foster kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Dirk Skaggs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 35 played minutes Sheridan Beach AFC got a freekick which was hit by Luis Joiner. If Rob Stapleton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Morgan Walsh to strike the kick off in the second half. Luis Joiner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Morgan Walsh in the 59th minute of play forced Sheridan Beach AFC's goalkeeper Marco Hathaway to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Margate City's Morgan Walsh in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sheridan Beach AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sheridan Beach AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lazaro Grove was slow to take the kick. During this time Margate City's players had a chance to rest. Norberto Sexton made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Rod Wilhelm sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Morgan Walsh in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Hathaway prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 72 minutes into the match, Dirk Skaggs notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sheridan Beach AFC's Marco Hathaway. Marco Hathaway was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rob Stapleton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Sexton having to interfere. Morgan Walsh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Margate City's Norberto Sexton got control of the ball when Rod Wilhelm tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Dillon Foster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Morgan Walsh in the 86th minute of play forced Sheridan Beach AFC's goalkeeper Marco Hathaway to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Morgan Walsh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Morgan Walsh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Hathaway was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Margate City's Norberto Sexton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Margate City from getting a goal against them. Sheridan Beach AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
