Santa Clara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Lockhart to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, Jeremy Valentin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ezra Anderson kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Jackson Plummer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derrick Bullard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grant Beckman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vaughn Watkins having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Derrick Bullard to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes New Ellenton got a freekick which was hit by Ezra Anderson. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mitchell Fenton in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vaughn Watkins saved New Ellenton from getting behind. Derrick Bullard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jackson Plummer having to interfere. Vaughn Watkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grant Beckman in the 67th minute of the match. Vaughn Watkins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mitchell Fenton in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Jeremy Valentin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeremy Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Jackson Plummer made a huge save. New Ellenton's Jeremy Valentin got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Jeremy Valentin came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the New Ellenton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremy Valentin couldn't finish the play. Santa Clara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grant Beckman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mitchell Fenton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
