Lockney FC's Clay Thompson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 10th match minute, C.D. Santa Clara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Len Bonner to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brian Bautista in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jackson Plummer saved C.D. Santa Clara from getting behind. Roberto Lewis's late challenge caught a Lockney FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roberto Lewis helped the player get up and apologised. Roberto Lewis kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Tommy Lockhart kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jimmy Dietz. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Jimmy Dietz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Grant Beckman in the 20th minute. A collision led to C.D. Santa Clara getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Len Bonner hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, C.D. Santa Clara's Jimmy Dietz threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roberto Lewis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Elton Snider fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jackson Plummer having to interfere. Chase McNeill took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jackson Plummer. C.D. Santa Clara's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Brian Bautista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jackson Plummer having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Grant Beckman made a precise shot to the right of Jimmy Dietz. Lockney FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Lockney FC's Clay Thompson quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Wade Cardwell, made in the 43rd minute of the game. 44 minutes into the match, Lockney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Lewis came free, but Jimmy Dietz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lockney FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Mitchell Fenton scored to the left of an out of position Jimmy Dietz, making the score, 4-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The wind increased when Mitchell Fenton made the kick off in the second half. Jackson Plummer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elton Snider, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The supporters of Lockney FC booed when C.D. Santa Clara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tommy Lockhart didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Lockney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Beckman came free, but Jimmy Dietz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Lockney FC defense, Roberto Lewis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jimmy Dietz. The Lockney FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jimmy Dietz should have stopped the shot. Grant Beckman succeeded in the game's 66th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 7-0.
