Sammy Abbott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lamar Overton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dave Arredondo took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sammy Abbott. In the 45thth minute of the game Stevie Grossman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but McColl FC's Sammy Abbott was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lamar Overton took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sammy Abbott. Sammy Abbott dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The McColl FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. San Diego State Aztecs were winning 0-3.

San Diego State Aztecs were furious when Fletcher Landry was red carded, 57 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 57 minutes into the game, one of San Diego State Aztecs:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ward Sneed shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After 63 minutes of play, McColl FC's Weldon Parham made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathon Evans was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gilbert Bergstrom kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 68th minute of the match Ward Sneed shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathon Evans showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Lamar Overton struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Sammy Abbott didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Diego State Aztecs. If Lamar Overton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lamar Overton in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sammy Abbott, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lamar Overton took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sammy Abbott. Sammy Abbott dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Stewart Marrero's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 90thth minute, Sammy Abbott skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sammy Abbott made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Lamar Overton sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of San Diego State Aztecs booed when McColl FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kyle Peoples didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute, Dave Arredondo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. San Diego State Aztecs played a much better game than McColl FC and deserved their victory. The McColl FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
