Ricardo Hadley might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bryant West. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricardo Hadley ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilfred Hooper scored 1-4 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sam Pickett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Zackary Curran got free with Sam Pickett in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sam Pickett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cason Dodge in the 70th minute of the match. Warner Rollins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Sam Pickett made a huge save. Fernando Pelletier took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bryant West. Bryant West dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vance Tucker in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bryant West saved Maryville from getting behind. 79 minutes into the match, Warner Rollins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sam Pickett. Essex FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Warner Rollins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-5. After a rather tough play, Maryville's Wilfred Hooper got a free kick in the 82nd minute. During the 83rd minute of the match Arthur Baird completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Arthur Baird a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Maryville's Cason Dodge slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sam Pickett. That made the score 2-6 after 85 minutes of play. In the 88th minute, Stefan Banks ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bryant West was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-6. Fernando Pelletier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bryant West having to interfere.
