Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Guy Tidwell kicked off to start the match. Elton Libby didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guy Tidwell went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 22 minutes into the match, Moises Gant dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pete Fountain, 2-2. In the 25th minute Stewart Jacobs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Fountain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute, Moises Gant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stewart Jacobs was the one to do the kick off. Pete Fountain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Hubbard in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Stewart Jacobs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelsea FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stewart Jacobs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pete Fountain breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. West Portsmouth's Pete Fountain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Hubbard in the 82nd minute of play. Pete Fountain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stewart Jacobs in the 85th minute of play. After 86 played minutes Chelsea FC got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Metcalf. In the 89th minute, Guy Tidwell made a precise shot to the right of Elton Libby. Chelsea FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-4. Pete Fountain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stewart Jacobs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Danny Hubbard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the final whistle went the supporters of West Portsmouth were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Chelsea FC side.
