In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grand Rapids FC's goalkeeper Jonathon Temple, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 4th match minute, Grand Rapids FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Whitney Whitmore to maneuver through the defense. Sung Kuhn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. South Paris's Archie Wiggins got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the game, Grand Rapids FC's Domenic Emerson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Winford Alvarez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Archie Wiggins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 played minutes South Paris got a freekick which was hit by Archie Wiggins. Jonathon Temple made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sung Kuhn in the 27th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sung Kuhn in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathon Temple prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Archie Wiggins in the 39th minute of play forced Grand Rapids FC's goalkeeper Jonathon Temple to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, South Paris's Archie Wiggins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathon Temple made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Archie Wiggins came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the South Paris fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Archie Wiggins couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Len Kurtz made the kick off in the second half. Grand Rapids FC's Jonathon Temple played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sung Kuhn in the 53rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Archie Wiggins managed to get in a good position for a shot. South Paris's supporters rose to their feet, but Archie Wiggins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathon Temple breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When South Paris's Sung Kuhn in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grand Rapids FC's goalie prevented a goal. Graig Hughes hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Archie Wiggins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Jonathon Temple tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sung Kuhn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Temple having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Grand Rapids FC's Whitney Whitmore got a free kick in the 71st minute. Kirk Kincaid hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute, Sung Kuhn reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathon Temple. The goal made the score 1-3. 86 minutes in the game, Sung Kuhn fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jonathon Temple having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Archie Wiggins left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The South Paris fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. In the 93rd minute, Archie Wiggins fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Sung Kuhn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Temple having to interfere. South Paris's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
