Grand Rapids FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Reggie McRae scored to the left of an out of position Jonathon Temple, making the score, 1-0. 15 minutes into the match, Grand Rapids FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ethan Pacheco came free, but Jonathon Temple reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brett Hoover got free with Jonathon Temple in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brett Hoover charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brett Hoover the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, World stars's Brett Hoover got a free kick in the 20th minute. Jefferson Wallace showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Len Kurtz, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. With a little luck, Grand Rapids FC's Jonathon Temple got control of the ball when Reggie McRae tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 33 minutes, Reggie McRae managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. World stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reggie McRae was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reggie McRae in the 35th minute of play forced Grand Rapids FC's goalkeeper Jonathon Temple to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reggie McRae recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathon Temple made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Reggie McRae sent off a good shot on target. If Fred Welch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Reggie McRae's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathon Temple read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Jonathon Temple made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Fred Welch sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

If Teddy Braun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Reggie McRae came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the World stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reggie McRae couldn't finish the play. After having played for 57 minutes, Ethan Pacheco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. World stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ethan Pacheco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reggie McRae in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathon Temple saved Grand Rapids FC from getting behind. Fred Welch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Reggie McRae's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathon Temple read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Grand Rapids FC's Jonathon Temple played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reggie McRae in the 65th minute of play. After having played for 66 minutes, Domenic Emerson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 67 minutes of play World stars's Brett Hoover was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 68th match minute, World stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brett Hoover to maneuver through the defense. Jefferson Wallace took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Len Kurtz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Graig Hughes struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Jefferson Wallace didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grand Rapids FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Reggie McRae managed to get in a good position for a shot. World stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Reggie McRae was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathon Temple breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute Len Kurtz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jefferson Wallace saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ethan Pacheco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reggie McRae sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fred Welch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Temple having to interfere. Darin Dozier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Jonathon Temple tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ethan Pacheco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Temple having to interfere.
