But to his dismay, Brian Potter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, Berkeley Heights's Lionel Herman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benny Rosenberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jermaine Harper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robbie Bradshaw in the 11th minute of play. Donald Santana's late challenge caught a Berkeley Heights's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donald Santana helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th minute, Torrington's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lionel Herman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Federico Scales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Rosenberg having to interfere. Lionel Herman came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Benny Rosenberg could save by the left post. Dan Tidwell's late challenge caught a Berkeley Heights's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dan Tidwell helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, Torrington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Tidwell to maneuver through the defense. Benny Rosenberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Scot Hilliard went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Jermaine Harper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robbie Bradshaw in the 33rd minute of the match. After 34 played minutes Berkeley Heights got a freekick which was hit by Rory Ackerman. Berkeley Heights's Jermaine Harper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donald Santana in the 37th minute of play. Benny Rosenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Scot Hilliard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Scot Hilliard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Berkeley Heights got a corner. Torrington's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lionel Herman ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Berkeley Heights's corner Lionel Herman fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benny Rosenberg quite easily take care of the ball. Scot Hilliard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Rosenberg having to interfere. Lionel Herman struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Benny Rosenberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Berkeley Heights. In the 59th minute, Federico Scales left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Berkeley Heights fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Von Barr during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 62nd minute of the game. One of Torrington:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Berkeley Heights:s goal. Lionel Herman shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Donald Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Harper having to interfere. When Rory Ackerman came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Berkeley Heights fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rory Ackerman couldn't finish the play. Torrington's Benny Rosenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Scales in the 71st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Scot Hilliard in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benny Rosenberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Scot Hilliard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Rosenberg having to interfere. Scot Hilliard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Rosenberg having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Federico Scales had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benny Rosenberg. Torrington's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Federico Scales was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. When Scot Hilliard came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Berkeley Heights fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Scot Hilliard couldn't finish the play.
