Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Davis Aguilar made the kick off which started today's match. Tristan Albright's late challenge caught a Iona AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tristan Albright helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Iona AFC booed when Ottawa Hills FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tristan Albright didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rhett Mays recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Dallas Engel fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iona AFC's protests and gave Dallas Engel a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Iona AFC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Dallas Engel hit a great ball. Wilfred Black showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tuan Cronin in the 13th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Tuan Cronin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ottawa Hills FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tuan Cronin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilfred Black breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Davis Aguilar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Rudy Gary got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 25 minutes into the game, Davis Aguilar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ottawa Hills FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iona AFC the free kick. A collision led to Ottawa Hills FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Davis Aguilar hit a great ball. Wilfred Black took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davis Aguilar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Davis Aguilar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Iona AFC's Lucien Quinn threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dallas Engel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rudy Gary scored 1-0 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucien Quinn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes into the game, Shelton Horner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ottawa Hills FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iona AFC the free kick. In the 46th minute, Shelton Horner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 47 played minutes, Iona AFC's Arturo Eastman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lucien Quinn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Iona AFC reached it. 48 minutes into the match, Ottawa Hills FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rhett Mays came free, but Lucien Quinn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rhett Mays made a kick off. Dallas Engel kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. The long shot by Joe Grayson in the 55th minute really tested Wilfred Black's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Tristan Albright hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Davis Aguilar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfred Black having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Iona AFC's zone, Tuan Cronin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfred Black came out of the goal and Tuan Cronin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute, Rudy Gary ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucien Quinn was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 79th minute Rhett Mays shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucien Quinn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rudy Gary recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Iona AFC defense, Tuan Cronin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilfred Black. The Iona AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilfred Black should have stopped the shot.
