Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Frankie Tripp started the match with the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rickey McCabe got free with Sonny Burke in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sonny Burke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Finley, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After some careless play in the Neillsville defense, Rickey McCabe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sonny Burke. The Neillsville fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sonny Burke should have stopped the shot. In the 8th match minute, Neillsville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Greg Zapata to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerry Finley in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sonny Burke saved Neillsville from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Finley in the 11th minute of play forced Neillsville's goalkeeper Sonny Burke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonard Marcus in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sonny Burke, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Finley in the 15th minute of play forced Neillsville's goalkeeper Sonny Burke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Barre booed when Neillsville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oren Kimble didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sonny Burke made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Rickey McCabe sent off a good shot on target. Roderick Bermudez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frankie Tripp in the 22nd minute of the match. Barre's Roderick Bermudez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frankie Tripp in the 29th minute of play. Sonny Burke made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Rickey McCabe sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Finley in the 36th minute of play forced Neillsville's goalkeeper Sonny Burke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frankie Tripp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roderick Bermudez having to interfere. After 41 played minutes, Neillsville's Dwayne Pierson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roderick Bermudez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Neillsville reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilbert Gauthier during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gilbert Gauthier hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Roderick Bermudez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Renteria, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Sonny Burke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickey McCabe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bob Renteria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roderick Bermudez having to interfere. In the 59thth minute of the game Frankie Tripp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barre's Roderick Bermudez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Neillsville's Sonny Burke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerry Finley in the 60th minute of play. Jerry Finley took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sonny Burke. Sonny Burke dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Neillsville's Bob Renteria got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Neillsville's goal looked a bit too open when Jerry Finley came free, but Sonny Burke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dwayne Pierson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 86th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Bob Renteria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roderick Bermudez having to make a save. After having played for 97 minutes, Bob Renteria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Neillsville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bob Renteria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
