Odem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knights SC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Odem's Basil Mabry got a free kick in the 6th minute. German Kern took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sheldon Crandall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Odem's attack was well implemented in the 12th minute, but when Preston Barnett was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 18th minute Sheldon Crandall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but German Kern saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sheldon Crandall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johnnie Gallegos hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Preston Barnett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul McPherson having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Preston Barnett made the kick off in the second half. Odem's Oscar Winslow got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Knights SC defense, Preston Barnett kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raul McPherson. The Knights SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raul McPherson should have stopped the shot. Raul McPherson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Preston Barnett in the 57th minute of the match. German Kern took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sheldon Crandall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Preston Barnett in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raul McPherson saved Knights SC from getting behind. In the 83rd minute Oscar Winslow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raul McPherson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Preston Barnett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute of the match Knights SC got a corner. Odem's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sol Cangiano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Maxwell Huggins tried in the game's 98th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy German Kern. An annoying self made goal, 1-3.
