West Lafayette Park
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Saukville FC's Willard Perdue started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jackson Ashley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cody Whitney in the 6th minute of the match. Jackson Ashley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurtis Call, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 8th minute, Willard Perdue got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elijah Zeigler kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Cody Whitney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Jackson Ashley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kurtis Call succeeded in the game's 14th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. After 17 played minutes Saukville FC got a freekick which was hit by Reuben Gee. The long shot by Deshawn McCann in the 18th minute really tested Jackson Ashley's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. West Lafayette AFC's Diego Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willard Perdue in the 24th minute of play. Ian Easley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Day having to interfere. Ian Easley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute Willard Perdue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cody Whitney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jackson Ashley having to interfere. The supporters of West Lafayette AFC booed when Saukville FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Swenson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, West Lafayette AFC's Deshawn McCann tried to score from far away in the 37th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After having played for 41 minutes, Cody Whitney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. West Lafayette AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cody Whitney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Saukville FC's goalkeeper Jackson Ashley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cody Whitney.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kurtis Call to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Cody Whitney made a precise shot to the right of Jackson Ashley. Saukville FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. West Lafayette AFC's Diego Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willard Perdue in the 54th minute of play. After 62 minutes of play, Saukville FC's Ian Easley made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diego Day was left in no man's land by his defense there! Henry Swenson kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the game, Rudolph Pace was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. West Lafayette AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saukville FC the free kick. Willard Perdue was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. Saukville FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After having played for 85 minutes, Willard Perdue managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saukville FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Willard Perdue was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saukville FC's goalkeeper Jackson Ashley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jackson Ashley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurtis Call, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Willard Perdue recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Saukville FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for West Lafayette AFC.
