Lawrence Escobedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steve Burgos, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Jeff Mahoney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leland Shoemaker having to interfere. Leland Shoemaker guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 34 played minutes Tottenham Hotspur got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Engle. In the 37th minute, Jeff Mahoney reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Leland Shoemaker. The goal made the score 2-1. After having played for 41 minutes, Steve Burgos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. West Belmar AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steve Burgos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Brad Baxter fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Leland Shoemaker, passed just outside the right post. Brad Baxter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeff Mahoney was the one to do the kick off. Casper Farmer kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Jeff Mahoney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Leland Shoemaker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wilbur Cline had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Keenan Castaneda who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Lawrence Escobedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 62 played minutes Tottenham Hotspur got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Engle. In the 63rd minute, Steve Burgos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leland Shoemaker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeff Mahoney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, Jeff Mahoney notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of West Belmar AFC's Leland Shoemaker. Leland Shoemaker was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Keenan Castaneda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeff Mahoney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leland Shoemaker having to interfere. Wilbur Cline kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Tottenham Hotspur's Giuseppe Clifton broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 87th minute Jeff Mahoney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leland Shoemaker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute Steve Burgos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lawrence Escobedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Brad Baxter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Keenan Castaneda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Devin Whitman hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. West Belmar AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
