After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Dennis Pringle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lexington FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis Pringle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dominic Richardson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dominic Richardson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Pringle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dennis Pringle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Lexington FC booed when FCPorto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domenico Reagan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, FCPorto's Shaun Solis got a free kick in the 46th minute. When Drew Acuna came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Lexington FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Drew Acuna couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Drew Acuna made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dennis Pringle got free with Dominic Richardson in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dominic Richardson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dennis Pringle in the 57th minute. If Drew Acuna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Kitchen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Napoleon Kimble tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind FCPorto's goalkeeper Dominic Richardson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Dennis Pringle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Lexington FC's Dominic Richardson threw himself towards the right post 76 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Drew Acuna, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 81st match minute, Lexington FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Pringle to maneuver through the defense. Drew Acuna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ken Sinclair hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. With a little luck, FCPorto's Dominic Richardson got control of the ball when Dennis Pringle tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 97th match minute, FCPorto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sterling Coyle to maneuver through the defense. When Dennis Pringle came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Lexington FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dennis Pringle couldn't finish the play.
