Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 10th minute, Larry Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The South Tucson fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Wilton Woodson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frankie Temple having to interfere. Frankie Temple showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilton Woodson in the 18th minute of the match. After having played for 21 minutes, Toby Fenton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Madera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toby Fenton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 23 played minutes Madera got a freekick which was hit by Oren Rosenthal. Wilton Woodson might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frankie Temple. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilton Woodson ran back to his position shaking his head. Nathaniel Durham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. South Tucson's Winston Escobar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathaniel Durham in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Marco Hendrix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute, Larry Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilton Woodson to make the kick off. Domingo Chung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Winston Escobar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in South Tucson's zone, Toby Fenton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Winston Escobar came out of the goal and Toby Fenton tried to chip the ball over his head. Winston Escobar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathaniel Durham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Winston Escobar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toby Fenton, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Winston Escobar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toby Fenton in the 95th minute of the match. South Tucson were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Madera to leave the ground with a draw.
