Jacob Hamm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malcolm English in the 8th minute of the match. Jacob Hamm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Malcolm English in the 10th minute of play. Arnoldo Alford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Taylor Ali took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thurman Henley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 20 minutes, Cruz Herman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. shanghaishenghua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cruz Herman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 22 played minutes shanghaishenghua got a freekick which was hit by Toby Garrison. 34 minutes into the game, Toby Garrison was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. shanghaishenghua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ashland City FC the free kick. Toby Garrison hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After 42 minutes of play, shanghaishenghua's Malcolm English made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacob Hamm was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thurman Henley to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thurman Henley in the 55th minute of play forced shanghaishenghua's goalkeeper Taylor Ali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Malcolm English sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Malcolm English came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the shanghaishenghua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Malcolm English couldn't finish the play. Taylor Ali showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thurman Henley, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Filiberto Sawyer's late challenge caught a Ashland City FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filiberto Sawyer helped the player get up and apologised. Filiberto Sawyer kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Ashland City FC's Arnoldo Alford tried to score from far away in the 71st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Taylor Ali made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thurman Henley in the 73rd minute of play. Taylor Ali showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thurman Henley in the 77th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ashland City FC's zone, Filiberto Sawyer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacob Hamm came out of the goal and Filiberto Sawyer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Ashland City FC defense, Cruz Herman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacob Hamm. The Ashland City FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacob Hamm should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, shanghaishenghua's Filiberto Sawyer got a free kick in the 86th minute. shanghaishenghua played a much better game than Ashland City FC and deserved their victory. The Ashland City FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
